Cedric Diggory
I realised that if I had to pick one character (except Harry) that would my favourite in RL, it'd most definitetely be Cedric Diggory. He has so much potential as a person in the book, and great looks and kindness to top it off, and also is probably the character that begs for AU fics most- a genre that I adore. I started being interested in what ifs and fanfiction after reading Goblet of Fire, and that started with imagining what would happen if Cedric were still alive. 

But I feel a decisive lack of good (novel length!) Cedric fic in fandom, and I can't understand that. He makes a wonderful pairing with Harry, and there's also plenty of potential for genfic or het. He's not too fleshed out in canon, but there's more to go by than with Pansy Parkinson for instance. In fact, untill book 6 we had about as much insight in Draco Malfoy's character, as we had in Cedric's; we knew their backround, their house, their attitude towards Harry, their house and their interests (as in Quidditch and girlfriends). So why this ignoring of a perfectly fine character? 

I admit there was a rising of Cedric fic after the fourth movie came out, but the majority of the stories produced, were short, Robert Pattison spin-offs. Which doesn't constitute good Cedric fic, nor does it interest me. 

So please, if you've written good Cedric fic or know good Cedric fic, tell me. If you know a hidden treasure trove of Cedric rec lists, tell me. If you feel inspired and are about to write good Cedric fic, I will be your eternal slave.
