    Arty goodness...
    Hello everyone, *waves sheepishly*
I'm very sorry for all the angst in my last post. I just couldn't handle all the exam stress, and had a little-mini-LJ-break-down. Sometimes the shit has to come out, else I'd be seriously constipated...;)

So, I did exam #2 and think I may have passed, that's a good thing! Only one to go, and I'm not so apprehensive about that one, because it's just ancient history; nothing too complicated...*whistles*
But thanks to everyone who wished me luck, I'm not going to be commenting back individually, because it'd just seem strange to do when I'm in such a good mood right now. But I really appreciate you lot, you really made me feel so much better! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

    Onto happier things then! Yay!OMGWTF!ART!!112!!!one!

    Icons and Recs
First of all a big hearty thanks and applause for [info]lycoris, who so graciously made me some wonderful ferret!icons. Whee! They're so cute and pretsy! I love them, thank you so much, dear! *OMG♥♥♥liek whoa*

Secondly, I assembled another batch of recs (though not as huge as the last) to provide you all with some last minute reading before HBP comes along. Heh.

    Then onto the recs: )

Lastly, goodnight to you all! :)

    Yay! Art!
I've been absent this week in order to cram for my exams next week, but couldn't resist the temptation anymore. Like that's a surprise.

Firstly, check my new icon (it says I long to kill, but that's not really true right now. Unless you're talking about Sokrates and Trasymachus. They're out of grace right now!) and my new ShakespeareQuotes!moodtheme (made by [info]zebra_patronus, nicked by me)!!!

Secondly, I tried something new: ArtPad. It's very funny. Really. Especially when I've been promising myself I'd only spend an hour online, and not get out my pencil and paper to finally do Ballet!Snape. Heh. Who could resist such an alternative, resist finding a way around the sinful act itself? *is full of bullshit*

    So.

This is my try-out, an impression of impressionism a drawing of a pond, in which I tried to acquaint myself with the unusual behaviour of my mouse, while trying to not ruin the piece. Or something. Just do me a favour and click!

    And then...*is really bad*

For: [info]issyadore (I adore you! You deserve so much more, really...)

Occasion: You gave me teh LJ paid time and inspired me to do this pic in the first place!!! :)

Artist: [info]elinevere (I love typing that)

Rating: Probably as G as you can get.

WIP: Nah...I really shouldn't. Besides, I still am going to draw this dear with real pencil and paper. I reckon this is an exercise of sorts.

    Media: ArtPad

Concrit: Sure. But I really know that there are plenty of mistakes myself, and that his body is in no way correct and that his leg is twisted into an impossible position- I know, I know! There's only so much I can do with a mouse, and this took me long enough as it is...*is ashamed*

Link: Here is Ballet!Snape (who BTW hasn't learned yet that one should not keep their hair loose during ballet), he's supposed to be about 12 years old. Pay special attention to OMGtights! And let me remind you again that this is done with just a mouse. Don't expect too much of it I love his prick though...

    Kill me now
Grrrr.....I did it again. *beats self à la Dobby*

For: Well, I suppose I blame [info]imadra_blue for this, so I'll give it back to you in return. But mind, I'm not trying to goad you further into SW fandom! :P

    Artist: [info]elinevere

Rating: PG, unless you find a bit of décolleté worthy of PG-13.

WIP: Again a big fat NO!

Media: pencil and paper. Can't seem to be bothered to use anything else these days. Shame on me!

    Feedback/Concrit: Yes please.

    Adding to the fandom
    O. M. G. *is stunned*

I strayed out of the Harry Potter Fandom. *hides under bed*

For: [info]imadra_blue, otherwise known as Jaxmari! *squee*

Occasion: Because OMG you're doing the [info]jedi_news!!! I'm proud of you, and decided to draw you a something. But-...why didn't you just stay away from the SW rabies? Now I had to draw *mumblemumbleseeforyourself*, and I've only ever seen the Phantom Menace...*headdesk* It's a disgrace and it's getting worse and worse. But anyway, you still deserve it! :)

    Artist: [info]elinevere, moi!

Rating: G or PG if you think glowering is scary...

WIP: no, don't want to go and change things, because I'm too lazy for it. And it's SW.

Media: As always, just pencil and paper.

Feedback/concrit: Will love you for it!

LJ cut: I'm warning you, it's Star Wars! )

    Weeee! Recs! (and hair)

Let's start with the hair first.

    I have curls!!! *dies*

I went to the hairdresser's and they just blowdried it a little differently (and showed me how to do it) and now my hair is no longer straight, boring and frizzy. Instead I have these really lushy curls. God, I love them. I've wanted them since I was twelve, but didn't want to ruin my hair with a perm. But these are my own, no rollers or whatever, just a bit of mousse and I'm all set! Amazing that it took me 18 years to find out I had them hidden somewhere! *strokes hair lovingly*

I'll post some pictures as soon as I have them, of course. Sadly, this might be a while, because I don't have a digital camera...:(

    Onto the next subject:

I've assembled you all quite a few recs over the past few weeks, and I'm dying to- er, well...rec them, you know...

    FIC RECS AHOY! )

    So, that's it! Enjoy....

Number One All Time Favourite Snarry Scene
What are your Number One All Time Favourite Snarry Scenes? Just a scene, not a whole fic, although that may also be the case of course. I just found mine- again. It's always the same scene I remember and then spend a considerable time searching for. But I read it again, and decided it was my favourite.

Here it is. To bug you all, I'm not going to tell you where it's from, or who wrote it. You may guess...*rubs hands with fiendish glee*

I'm posting this here because I really have no clue which community it is fit for...If anyone would be so kind as to enlighten me?

ETA. Okay...I know I'm not an artsy genius, but I've waited about 17 hours and not one person has said anything. *cries* I'll go and search for a community myself then. Is it honestly that bad???

Harry Potter and the Slytherin Spy by[info]sabledrake

Summary:Set immediately following the events in "Order of the Phoenix," this is a novel-length work in which several canon characters die in mysterious and sometimes grotesque ways, romances are turbulent, attractions are forbidden, secrets are revealed, and no one has a happy ending.

It is a complete story (finished just yesterday), so you'll be able to read it all in one big sitting- it has 30 chapters! It's a sixth year fic, but only spans summer til November. The writing was excellent, although I sometimes had a feeling some of the scenes were a bit overdramatic...Also had a very nice plot and good characterizations. Go read it!

I'd also like to rec a few other (post-OotP), less known sixth-year-fics I'm currently reading. Mind you, although none of these are finished yet, they do all  have over 20 chapters already and are updated regularly.

In Blood Only by E.M. Snape (updated  approximately every two weeks)

Summary: Snape is Harry's father. No one is happy to hear it.

This is one of my absolute favourites at the moment, it's simply a must for anyone who enjoys canon Snape and Harry interaction. Don't let the Severitus Challenge thing put you off; you won't see any cliché ridden things in here. It has wonderful angsty characterizations, the likes of which you've probably never seen before, especially Snape; he'so very intelligent and shrewd, and such a complete bastard and a spy that mkes you believe he could trick Voldemort for years on end...

Harry Potter and the Battle of Wills by [info]jocelyncs (updated steadily every week on Friday)

Summary:Snape blew his cover as a spy to save Harry from Voldemort.

The summary makes it sound as though it only centers on the relations between Harry and Snape- this is not true, this fic encompasses the whole year and everything that goes with it. This story made me cry (at the end of chapter 30, if you must know). Only about 5 or 6 of the thousands of stories I've read over the past two years were able to do get me to do that, so that should tell you something about the quality of it! It is written by Jocelyn and her mother (which is something one doesn't see often in the fandom), but it appearantly works very well for them- read the story, you'll see what I mean. They also try to fit in every title rumoured to be the official title of book 6, as a sort of personal joke. Although it may sound as if it's just another parody on all things one might call cliché (I seem to like that word today), that's absolutely no the case. It has very strong characterizations and details that make it feel as though you're reading a real Harry Potter book,  and not just an internet-story.

Harry Potter and the Curse of Durand by [info]nomadicwriter (updated every morning)

Summary:When Harry returns to Hogwarts for his sixth year, he finds the entire school under an ancient and deadly dangerous enchantment.

This is also a very good story that will cover the whole sixth year. It has a lovely plot and  it somehow manages to capture this magical feeling I associate with Hogwarts. The way Harry, Ron and Hermione interact in this story is especially to my liking. Not to mention this fic is updated so mercifully often!

That's it for today, I think! Sit down and have yourselves a good read, then...

hehe. The things you find when reading at fanfiction.net.

The next morning Uncle Vernon didn't mention his late-night beating of Harry, only smirked as Harry whipped up breakfast, obviously favoring his right arm, which was broken, and breathing in painful little puffs, since all his ribs were broken. He was in such agonizing pain...such painful pain...such truly awfully dreadful throbbing throughout his whole body...

"I'll take another piece of bacon," Dudley murmured.

Harry expertly flipped a piece of bacon onto his plate.

I just washed my hair with John Frieda's new brunette line. It smelled a bit like coconut, yummy. I blowdried my hair. It stayed flat. Unbelievable. Flat and shiny.

And the best thing is the cream I put in it afterwards ( also part of the series of brunette products); my hair smells like a delicious mélange of coconut and cookiedough.

I want to lick and eat my hair!!! Right...

That said, I just wrote Squid!poetry!!!!!!!*squees*

    Young Weasley's quest for sex,
    Has only ever been complex;
    He first tried Hermione
who did the "bye bye Honey"
And left him to try other projects.

    Because finding naught to excite,
    His hand did work hard over night;
    But then suddenly
    A tentacle saw he
    That attractively seemed to invite.

Ron's love did cause quite a commotion,
    when he threw in the pink potion;
    they have smutty sex,
    that always reflects,
    his dear squid's undying devotion.

(Based on [info]curia_regis's Lakeside Romance, with a bit of a prologue added to it)</span>

I'm rubbing my hands together right now in a fit of Harry-Potter-can-learn-something-from-my-hair-induced glee.
